Today, as the rights of women and the LGBTQ community are threatened in the US and around the world, it’s even more important.
We’re activating our global network and helping women stay with other women for free during the Women’s March this January.
Traveling to the march and need a place to stay? We have you covered. Got an extra bedroom you can offer? You can help us make sure no woman feels that she can’t march because she doesn’t have a place to stay.

How it Works
Fill out a quick form if you’ve got an extra room or are looking for a place to stay. We’ll ask you some basic questions to help pair you with the right person.
We verify each participant with a five-minute video verification call on Zoom. That’s our way of making this as safe as possible for each participant involved.
Get personally matched with a hostess or guest during the march and coordinate arrival and departure details.
Make a lifelong friendship with another woman who believes as much in supporting and lifting other women as you do.
Submit this form to reach a member of our team who can help guide you and answer any questions you have.
Want to volunteer with us?
We’re looking for women in different cities to help organize the local efforts, answer questions from participants, conduct video verification calls, and more. Get in touch with us and let us know how you’d like to help!
Frequently Asked Questions
Why are you doing this?
Wanderful is a community of over 40,000 women around the world who love to travel and who fundamentally believe that we are each other’s greatest asset in the world. Our mission is to connect kind, helpful women together to make our travel experiences better, because travel is the key to shared community and global understanding. We see ourselves as a sisterhood of women who lift each other up rather than knock each other down.
With the Women’s Marches around the corner, many of our Wanderful members have been asking how they can help. We are living in a world where women’s rights are being challenged and it is up to us to speak up and fight for them. What can we do to help each other?
With the first pilot of our women’s homesharing network launched last year, we realized it was under our own noses the whole time. We had the knowledge to help women get to the march, and connect them with other women who want to support them as they do it.
We decided as a team to create a free service that pairs marchers needing a place to stay with women who have extra bedrooms. We are vetting each participant and personally connecting them. Each one of us is putting in extra hours to make it happen, because we believe that each and every woman we can add to the upcoming marches is a step forward for all of us.
Is there a cost to participate as a hostess or guest?
No! The hostesses are volunteering their extra space free of charge to marchers and we are matching hostesses and guests at no cost.
How do I get matched with a hostess or guest?
The Wanderful team will use the data from every response to optimize matches based on location, number of guests, and other factors. As the Marches draw closer, the Wanderful team will connect you directly with your host or guest(s).
Is this safe?
We do everything we can to ensure a safe and pleasant experience for everyone participating in this program. This includes requiring the upload of a headshot as well as a five-minute video verification call for each and every participant. Those looking for additional verification can share a Facebook or LinkedIn link. Despite the extra efforts we may make, each participant is responsible for her own safety and recognizes the risks in staying in the home of someone they don’t know.
Hostesses are invited to purchase insurance through our homesharing partner, Slice Labs, for an affordable option that extends beyond traditional homeowners insurance. Guests are expected to treat their hostesses and their hostesses’ homes with respect.
Is this open to trans women and nonbinary people?
Yes! We ask you to identify your gender (male, female, other) when signing up but do not discriminate when matching hostesses and guests and expect our hostesses and guests to treat one another with the utmost kindness.
Can I travel with my [partner/kids/etc]?
Yes! All you’ll need to do is identify who you are traveling with and we will do our best to find you an appropriate match.
How can I help spread the word?
We are actively looking for more hostesses across the US and world that want to host marchers. Here are some tweets you can share with your network:
