FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How does it work?
As a verified member, you have exclusive access to the Wanderful homesharing network. When a traveler is interested in staying in your home, she’ll fill out the “Book Now” form on your listing and you’ll receive a notification to approve or decline the booking.
Unlike other homesharing services, bookings are tucked behind the portal of our trusted membership community — that way you know you’re staying with another verified Wanderful member. You can learn more about our detailed identity verification process in our member handbook.
Once a traveler books a stay with you, it’s up to the two of you to work out the details of your homestay. This includes arranging the check-in and check-out times and providing the exact address of your home.
How do I list my home?
In your member dashboard there is an option to “Add New Property.” Fill out your home information from there, and remember to save as you go! If you have questions or need assistance, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
**Please do not list your exact address. You can share this with your guest after her booking is confirmed. Instead, input the latitude and longitude coordinates directly. We recommend using Maps.ie to add your address, then selecting a location nearby your home, and inputting those coordinates for your Wanderful listing.
What types of listings are accepted in the Wanderful homesharing network?
We accept private rooms as well as full property rentals. Some members choose to list both. To do that, you may create separate listings with their own respective calendars.
How much should I charge for my listing? How does payment work?
We know that it takes time and money to be a good hostess, That’s why we let you set your own rates to welcome guests into your home. For inspiration, check out some of the other listings to get a feel for market rates, but ultimately charge what is meaningful to you.
All payments are assessed a 5% service fee on the hostess side that goes to Wanderful to cover our operating costs. However, it’s completely free to set up your listing! Once a guest books with you, you can send an invoice by clicking a button from your “Bookings” tab and accepting payment through the methods you’ve indicated when setting up your listing.
How do I get verified?
The special part about our Wanderful homesharing is that every person — traveler and hostess alike — is verified through our unique video verification system.
When you create an account (if you haven’t yet, just click “sign up” in the top right corner of the website), you’ll be prompted to schedule your verification call. These are five-minute video calls that our team conducts with you on Zoom to make sure you and the person in your profile are the same.
While it’s up to you to take responsibility for your safety while using Wanderful and any time you’re traveling, we hope that our video verification makes you feel even more at ease when connecting with other women around the world. In fact, 71% of our Wanderful hostesses rate the experience as important or very important to them!
