Property Description

We live in a tall colorful modern row home in Fishtown—a 3 minute walk away from all of the food scene on Frankford Ave and famous restaurants like Suraya, Kensington Quarters, and amazing coffee like La Colombe and Cake Life. We are also 14 minutes from Center City by train. I have curated our guest rooms from textiles and findings from my travels. I have two travel inspired rooms available, and guests will have access to the entire second floor of the house. This room is a reminder of our travels through India and Thailand, and is decorated with Banjara, Hmong, and Afghan textiles. Featuring a Queen Bed covered in Indigo and walk in closet, as well as lots of light. This room is street side but we live on a fairly active but quiet block. A full bathroom is in the hallway for your use along with organic bath soaps fun spa items from local makers that we want you to enjoy! Access to the room is through the living room and dining room area which is where we get most of our work and daily life done. We are really excited to meet our guests and share a drink or a meal during your stay. Please note, we have two cats named Queenie and Rosie who are very friendly and sweet!

Natalie J

I have been a Wanderful member since its inception, and it’s been an incredible community over the years. I am excited to host and meet travelers from the Wanderful network in our great city of Philadelphia! . Natalie Jesionka has researched and reported on human rights issues around the world. She lectures on human trafficking, social good, and human rights at Rutgers University. When she is not teaching, she is traveling and offering tips on how students and professionals can get the most out of their experiences abroad. She also encourages global exploration through her work as Editor of Shatter the Looking Glass, an ethical travel magazine. Natalie is a Paul and Daisy Soros Fellow and served as a 2010 Fulbright Scholar in Thailand. She also pens the column “Travel Mirror” about effective impact and transitioning abroad at the Daily Muse. Her work has been featured in Forbes, Mashable and Glamour Magazine. In May 2019, she will be launching Global Elective, a new web platform and magazine that focuses on social impact travel and helping non traditional travellers gain access to the world.
